Recycling Celebration animated Pitesti for two days!

Pitești, September 29, 2015 – The Romanian Recycling Association RoRec, together with local authorities held in Pitesti the Recycling  Celebration, a two-day event where several premieres for Arges took place.

The Recycling Celebration began Friday, September 25 with the launch of RoRec Collection Center, the first in Pitesti municipality. This is the 29th location in the network achieved by RoRec Association in partnership with local authorities nationwide. The center of Pitesti offers WEEE collection services for both individuals and legal entities. Citizens have the opportunity to dispose of old or defective electrical equipment by bringing them to the collection center in Depozitelor Str., FN (vis -a- vis SC Matrite Dacia SA). The center program is from Monday to Thursday between 16.00 and 19.00.

After the launch of the collection center, it was the Recycling Patrol’s turn to celebrate another first for Pitesti – the Day of the Recycling Patrol in Arges, winner of a national award at the 2014-2015 edition. At the Recycling Patrol Day, Vasile Milea Square vibrated to the rhythm of joy of hundreds of children and teachers from Arges Patrol. People in Pitesti had the opportunity to meet the children and teachers who promote and contribute to the separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the city and 10 other municipalities in the county. Babana village was so proud of the success of children that their Patrol came to Pitesti driven by the Mayor himself!

The Patrol’ Supporters – companies and institutions in the county that have discarded WEEE on the account of the program and contributed to the success of Arges Patrol received special thanks. People in Pitesti who brought electrical waste at the Supporters’ tent were greeted with gingerbread and informative materials about the importance of recycling WEEE.

The Recycling Celebration brought to the citizens of Pitesti on 25-26 September the first WEEE collection action organized by the Collection Centre in Pitesti. The citizens were offered the opportunity to correctly dispose of e-waste by submitting them to the collection center or in one of the five temporary drop-off points located in different places in the city. Heavy or large waste was taken for free from home, institution or company office through telephone orders to RoRec Green Line 0800 444 800 (toll free). Over 14 tonnes of electrical and electronic waste were collected during these two days.

Pitesti inhabitants could celebrate all these premieres on Friday evening with a concert “Recycling Rocks!”, a project created together with Cargo and Domino bands, which aims to promote environmental messages through the voices of artists loved by the public, in an inciting and modern manner. Domino sang for the first time in Pitesti and Cargo band celebrated by this concert 30 years of activity. “Music is a universal language through which we try to involve rock lovers and all that understand and love music as well as the environment” said Adrian Bărar.
