A new project for promoting social inclusion of people belonging to vulnerable groups launched at Alba Iulia

Alba Iulia, February 10th, 2015 – The Romanian Recycling Association RoRec, in partnership with the Order of Malta Relief Organisation in Romania and Alba Iulia Municipality launched a new project co-financed by the European Social Fund, through the Sectorial Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013, aimed at promoting social inclusion by social economy development.

On Tuesday, February 10th 2015, the project “Increasing the opportunities for social inclusion by setting up Structures of Social Economy for people belonging to vulnerable groups from three development regions of Romania” was launched. The overall objective of the project is to improve the professional situation of 64 people, offering the opportunity for a working place within 8 Structures of Social Economy (SES) set up in the Western, Central and North-Eastern regions of Romania. The target group will be offered support to identify professional needs and interests to improve their living standards. All 64 selected people will receive information and counselling services and subsequently 43 people, out of which 29 from vulnerable groups, will be hired to work in these 8 SES and will benefit from on the job training.

The 8 Structures of Social Economy activating in the field of collecting, sorting and recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) will be set up in Alba Iulia City, Hunedoara City, Sibiu City, Scheia (Suceava City), Harman (Brasov City), Sancraiu de Munte (Tg Mures City), Sacalaz (Timisoara City) and Oituz (Bacau City). The three partners of the project – RoRec Association, the Order of Malta Relief Organisation in Romania and Alba Iulia Municipality – ensure complementary expertise areas that will contribute to the successful development of the implementation regions, as well as to the improvement of the professional life of the employees and their dependents and furthermore to building up an innovative and flexible model of job creation for people belonging to vulnerable groups.
