The children of Sacalaz want a cleaner environment

We are young, but brave, and we can change the world around us. This is the message that the children of Săcălaz sent at the end of March to the grown-ups around them, by taking part in the greening action organised in their commune.

Children studying at the Săcălaz Primary and Secondary School joined the initiative of the local town hall and took part in a greening action in the area around the commune’s main street. They were helped by the local representative of the RoRec Association, Ştefan Todaşcă, the representative of the Timiş Environmental Protection Agency, Florina Raicea, and the Săcălaz town hall team: the officer for environment, Ana-Maria Scăunaş, the officer for green areas and the representative of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Florin Chindriş, as well as the school director, Petrică Ion.

Armed with protection gloves and plastic bags, sporting ‘green’ badges, the children had the chance to be actively involved in activities meant to change the place where they live into a cleaner one, and they could also learn about the importance of selective collection, both for household and electrical and electronic equipment waste.
