Ecology should be learned when equipped with a dust bag

The first Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Collection Centre in Timiş county was opened in October, following the establishment of a partnership between the RoRec Association and the local authorities.

Outdated electrical and electronic equipment collection actions were paralleled by an educational initiative which involved 14 pupils of the Sacalaz General School.

They made drawings on various ECO themes, which were exhibited in the RoRec information tent, and the little artists received RoReckids timetables and Wall-E cartoons DVDs as a reward. And keeping in mind that an adult applies the rules learned as a child, the pupils learned just how difficult it is to gather the litter so easily thrown away at random.

So, equipped with dust bags, protection gloves and a lot of enthusiasm, they took part in the greening action organised by RoRec. Impressed by their desire to turn Săcălaz into a cleaner and more beautiful place, the administrators of the inflatable slides set up for the ‘Săcălaz Days’ Festival rewarded the children with ‘Slides Breaks’. It was a good ecology lesson for all the participants to the festival.
On the last day of the festival, on 4 October, the children came to the show organised by RoRec, and took part in the drawing of prizes for the RoRec raffle. Tudorică Virgil Mircea, 13, had handed over an old DVD player at the RoRec collection container and he won at the raffle a Teka microwave oven. The great surprise of the day was Mircea Vintilă’s recital. The singer invited the children on the stage to sing together the evening’s last song.
