Collect used batteries and return a burst of positive energy to mother nature!
In partnership with Elevate Media, we have launched a batteries and portable accumulators collection service in residential and office buildings in Bucharest.
As of July, people living and working in 35 buildings in Bucharest have at their disposal a new selective collection system for batteries and portable accumulators. This service was made available as the result of the new partnership between the indoor advertising company Elevate Media and the Romanian Association for Recycling RoRec, with the support of the administrators of the buildings where this new selective collection system has been implemented.
This campaign is part of a vast project run by the RoRec Association at national level. It already includes more than 350 locations, in major retail shops and partner companies in approximately 200 towns. The residential and office buildings open a new area for selective collection information and awareness-raising activities.
‘It is very important to come as close to the people as possible and offer them easy access to this local service. Our presence in residential and office buildings, as well as in retail shops, is meant to help citizens get rid of this kind of waste in a responsible and comfortable way and to offer an incentive to protect natural resources and the environment,’ said Iuliana Niculescu, RoRec Association project manager. ‘When we create such an infrastructure, we start answering more and more frequent questions such as “What to do with it?” or “We want to recycle it, but where can we take it?”’ concluded the RoRec representative.
‘Ever since Elevate was set up, it has been supporting non-profit initiatives, especially green-thinking ones. In most cases, we are involved in such initiatives as part of promoting campaigns. However, as partners of the RoRec Association in the recycling project, we have been able to do much more. We didn’t only provide advertising space which we want to become a starting point for a certain type of social behaviour, but also physical space for batteries collection in the Elevate buildings. We hope that this partnership will develop in the long term for locations in Bucharest and everywhere else in the country,’ said Catalina Murariu, Elevate Marketing Manager.
The project is being run only in Bucharest at the moment, but it is foreseen to be extended at national level during the next 12 months.
