A healthy life is a battle against your own weaknesses
At the beginning of the month, on 9th May, the ‘Aloe Vera’ race was organised by Forever Living Romania, along Kisselleff Blv, Piaţa Victoriei, Aviatorilor Blv, on an approximate distance of 3.5 kilometres.
As the RoRec Association encourages a healthy life style and exercise, Iuliana Niculescu, our colleague from RoRec, took part for the first time in a running event, despite the drizzle that pestered the participants throughout the race.
‘I’m running for the physical and psychological benefits offered by this sport. When you run, you’re more honest with yourself. Runners say that in a race you do not run against the other participants, but you run alone, against ‘the voice inside’ which most often than not tells you …to give up. For 23 minutes, I was stronger than this temptation, and my thoughts concentrated on the people dear to me and the encouragement I received from them. It was my pleasure to take part in such an event and I am looking forward to the next race!’ said Iuliana Niculescu.
The event was organised both for experienced runners, as well as for those who were taking part in a race for the very first time. Elisabeta Lipă, the well-known rower, participated in this race and Violeta Beclea Szekely gave the starting signal. The prizes included bicycles, mp3 players, digital cameras and Forever Living Products.
