The first event of the WEEE collection campaign in partnership with the City Hall of district 6, a success!

Starting October 1st, the City Hall of district 6, partner of the Romanian Recycling Association RoRec, relaunched a campaign for the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) from the citizens of this district of the Capital. The City Hall of district 6 and the RoRec Association, together with Analia Selis and her band, launched the project on Saturday, October 1st.

During a period of four weeks, starting with the October 1st weekend, the citizens of district 6 will be assisted in the disposal of electrical waste from their homes in the areas designated with the city hall, based on a schedule announced weekly.

Approximately 5,000 kg of WEEE were collected in the first weekend of the project conducted in collaboration with the City Hall of district 6. Over 2,000 persons participated at the raffle on Saturday, October 1st in the Drumul Taberei Park and enjoyed the Analia Selis & Friends concert.

The little ones also had a chance to learn, in a funny and creative way, about the positive effects of WEEE collection on the environment where they live. They participated in contests with prizes, face-painting sessions and learned how to dance Latino.

The citizens who brought waste at the fixed collection points or at the mobile teams participated in a raffle with prizes consisting of bicycles and promotional gifts from HotPoint. Find here the winners and pictures from the event of launching the WEEE collection campaign.

To follow-up on the campaign, citizens can bring their waste equipment at the fixed collection points that will operate in the active collection area every Saturday (October 8th, 15th and 22nd), while mobile teams will provide FREE pick-ups of heavy or large equipment at their homes, based on requests placed by phone to the call center.
