The battery collection network exceeded 1,400 locations
2011 brought an extension of the portable batteries and accumulators collection network. We are now present in institutions, schools, office and residential buildings, retail chains, companies, gas stations, hotels. We have 1,526 collection containers installed in more than 1,400 locations. The newest partners in the collection networks are Europharm (GSK), Hilton Hotel, Mahle Componente de Motor SRL, Marelvi, OMV Romania, Romsound and Super Micro Top.
The “Nicolae Iorga” high-school from Botosani included portable batteries and accumulators collection in a European project: “Friendly people for friendly energy”, intended to shape the pupils’ environmental awareness, to develop their responsibility towards the environment by strengthening their knowledge about alternative energy sources while encouraging them to take care of the place where they live.
“We signed a partnership with the RoRec Association from Bucharest and they provided the logistical support. On February 9th we handed over to the association’s representative 8,092 batteries that we have collected from September 2010 to date, a clear sign that the project has an impact”, stated Mrs. Mirela Sanduleanu, teacher, project coordinator.
